OVERVIEWAs a final assignment, I was given full creative liberty on this project. The only criteria was to create a 30 second to 1 minute video showing something that I am passionate about. In the Barbie movie, there is a monologue recited by America Ferrera describing the collective experiences of a woman in todays society. Using techniques I have learned over the past 3 years, I created a video that I will forever be proud of.
PROCESSThis project started with our idea and sound. Sourcing materials for the sound, I remembered the exact scene from the movie. From then, I created rough storyboards that would represent the meaning of each word. After creating my concept, I spent alot of time in photoshop creating and editing all assets. After countless hours of editing, and an entire project dedicated to fixing any issues, I finally finished.
RESULTOverall, this project became my favourite out of my whole education. I pushed myself to explore new skills that allowed me to bring this vision to life. Given a perfect score, I dont doubt that this will be a staple piece in my portfolio, always.
